Gerald Yao
Chief Strategy Officer, Global Head of ESG, and Co-founder
Gerald is the Co-Founder, Chief Strategy Officer, and Global Head of ESG at FiscalNote, where he leads the company's environmental, social, and governance initiatives and line of business. At FiscalNote, Gerald also implemented the Corporate Social Responsibility and DEIBA (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Belonging, and Accessibility) functions.
He co-founded FiscalNote after a decade of leading operations in the non-profit, public schools, and start-up sectors. Gerald started his career in the nonprofit space in high school and was a founding member of Operation Fly, an initiative to support homeless and underprivileged students across North America.
In 2023, Empower named Gerald a “Top 100 Executive.” Empower’s “Role Model Lists” showcase leaders who are breaking down barriers for people of color within global business.
Gerald studied finance and sociology at Emory University.
