WASHINGTON, DC – August 18, 2021 – FiscalNote, the premier global information services company focused on global policy and market intelligence, announces it has acquired Predata, an AI-based technology company that quantifies online attention to provide a more complete picture of the geopolitical landscape.
Founded in 2015 by a group of engineers from Princeton University, Predata’s products enable customers to glean insights about their strategic messaging efforts and discover anomalous trends in online attention to inform their perspectives on real-world geopolitical impact. With offices in New York and Washington, DC, Predata has built a team of diverse professionals with backgrounds in finance, data science, and international relations to help customers solve some of the world’s most complex geopolitical challenges.
“What most really excites me about bringing Predata into the FiscalNote family is that it further strengthens our advanced technical capabilities that we can leverage to deliver insight to clients,” said FiscalNote founder and CEO, Tim Hwang. “By pairing our dual strengths across both technology and human-generated intelligence, FiscalNote will continue leading the way in providing trusted solutions that help organizations manage their most important global and domestic issues.”
This strategic transaction comes four months after the acquisition of UK-based Oxford Analytica, a renowned leader in geopolitical content and analysis. As the world becomes increasingly complex, FiscalNote continues to provide innovative and comprehensive access to actionable insight across a rapidly evolving global political climate.
“We are thrilled to continue our journey executing on Predata’s mission and strategy as part of the FiscalNote family,” said Predata CEO, Hazem Dawani. “The clear product and customer synergies will enable Predata to accelerate its future development plans and expansion into additional client segments, while giving FiscalNote additional geopolitical and intelligence capabilities.”
Dawani will continue to lead the Predata team going forward.
The acquisition is the latest in a series made in 2021 by FiscalNote, as the company continues to strengthen and expand its suite of solutions designed to help organizations navigate the policy and global market landscape. Alongside Oxford Analytica earlier this year, FiscalNote acquired FactSquared, an AI-enabled data company specializing in analyzing and transcribing comments made by public figures; TimeBase, a Sydney-based company that provides legislative research and tracking tools for Australian legislation; Fireside, a Washington, DC-based provider of SaaS constituent management workflow tools to Capitol Hill; Board.org, an Austin-based company that builds vendor-free, peer-to-peer communities for people leading meaningful change at the world’s biggest companies; and Equilibrium, which has developed next generation ESG and climate data management software.
Predata is a leading AI-company for uncovering insights in online activity. The company has built the world's most comprehensive analytics platform to turn anonymized metadata into measurements of online attention to narratives, topics and themes for over 180 countries. Predata's web-based platform provides a more complete picture of the geopolitical landscape, enabling customers with global exposure to discover, quantify, and act upon dynamic shifts in online attention.
