President & CEO

Key Compton serves as FiscalNote’s President and Chief Executive Officer, bringing three decades of experience founding, scaling, and investing in technology companies. Prior to his current role, Key served as Co-Founder and Managing Director of GPO Fund, where he led growth-stage investments in enterprise software and data businesses, including FiscalNote and Spire Global (NYSE: SPIR), both of which listed on national securities exchanges during his tenure as a board member. Key has served on FiscalNote's Board of Directors since 2021, including as Audit Committee Chair. 

 

Prior to GPO Fund, Key served as the Senior Vice President at LivePerson (NASDAQ:LPSN), a position he assumed following the acquisition of a company he co-founded. Previously, he was President of Data & Distribution at AddThis, which was acquired by Oracle (NYSE:ORCL), a position that he stepped into following the acquisition of another firm he co-founded. Earlier in his career, Key co-founded several technology firms, including XGraph (acquired by AddThis), Solbright (acquired by Operative), Mimeo, and SoundSpectrum. 

 

Key holds a B.A. in Economics and English from the University of Vermont, where he graduated with departmental honors in Economics and was awarded the Kidder Medal for exemplifying character, leadership, and scholarship. He also holds an M.B.A. from the joint EMBA-Global Program at Columbia Business School and London Business School.
