Yes. The full API documentation – including endpoints, fields, data types, and example responses – is available.

Each result returned by the API counts toward your total. For example, a bill search returning 7 bills uses 7 results; a bill search returning 500 pieces of legislation uses 500 results. Multiple calls add up – for example, searching a bill, then pulling its votes, then its events returns 3 separate results. 

Sign up for the free API key or Self-Serve tier, and you'll receive a key right away. For Enterprise plans, talk to Sales – they'll provision your key as part of the contract.

• Stakeholder Intelligence: Our expansive database of global policy influencers, government officials, and staffers, as well as district matching tools (address/ZIP to official) and committee membership data.
• PolicyNote App Data: Seamless integration with your organization’s existing PolicyNote platform workflows, allowing you to programmatically access your custom Issues, Labels, Action Types, and organizational actions.

60 requests per minute at standard rate limits (applied to Free and Self-Serve tiers). Each request returns up to 500 results unless otherwise noted in the API documentation; larger result sets require pagination via continuation tokens. Enterprise buyers can negotiate custom rate limits for high-volume or time-sensitive use cases.

The Free and Self-Serve tiers are month-to-month – no annual contract required. Enterprise plans are negotiated with Sales and can include annual or custom terms.
