2023 Energy Crisis: Opportunities to Shape the EU’s Energy Transition

| - est

Europe’s energy system is facing an unprecedented crisis. And the most difficult challenges may still lie ahead.

Russian gas imports, once critical for power, heating, and industrial processes, plunged in 2022 following the EU's efforts to phase them out. Meanwhile, supply and demand issues push wholesale electricity and gas prices up, severely affecting households and businesses.

There has been a range of EU policy responses. From structural policies aimed at speeding up the clean energy transition and protecting consumers at risk, to emergency measures such as demand reduction targets and caps on gas prices and market revenues of electricity producers.

In 2023, EU leadership will further look at ways to appease this crisis, shielding consumers from high prices and accelerating the energy transition.

Join our live webinar on Thursday, February 9th, at 4 p.m. CET / 10 a.m. EST to hear from EU Issue Tracker analysts and industry experts on the trends in energy policy and markets and what risks and opportunities organisations face in 2023.
