From Bold Startup to Global Category Leader: Why We Updated the FiscalNote Brand

Since our founding in 2013, FiscalNote has been redefining the policy intelligence industry by combining advanced artificial intelligence with deep human expertise to deliver clarity and confidence in an increasingly complex world. 
In the early days, we were a young, ambitious startup solving a problem that didn’t yet have a category. We believed—confidently and maybe a little audaciously—that technology could fundamentally change how policy professionals manage risk, opportunity, and impact. That belief carried us from first-to-market innovator to a publicly traded company in August 2022.

As we’ve grown, scaled, and matured, one thing has stayed true: our mission. We exist to give policy professionals clear, timely intelligence so they can act with confidence.

What has changed is the world around us.

A Brand Built for This Moment 

Policy has never moved faster. Signals are noisier. Stakes are higher. AI is no longer experimental—it’s essential.

Our updated visual identity reflects this reality. It sharpens our focus, clarifies our value, and aligns how we look with how we work today: delivering fast, actionable, AI-powered intelligence across every product and every workflow.

This evolution isn’t about reinvention. It’s about precision—making sure our brand clearly communicates who we are, what we do best, and why it matters now.

To guide this evolution, we returned to three principles that have always defined how we build—and how we show up: Bold. Simple. Unexpected.

Bold, because policy decisions carry real consequences, and the intelligence behind them should be confident, not cautious.

Simple, because clarity is the ultimate advantage in a world overloaded with information.

Unexpected, because the best insights don’t just confirm what you already know—they reveal what you didn’t see coming.

These principles shaped every decision in our refreshed brand, from our visual system to the way we signal value across our products.

A Logo that Points the Way Forward

As part of our refreshed identity is a new logo—one that introduces a star symbol alongside the FiscalNote name.

Some PolicyNote users may already recognize this mark. For the last few years, we’ve used it internally—known as our “AI Sparkle”—to signify AI-driven features and capabilities. Today, that symbol takes on a broader role as our visual North Star. We’ve elevated that symbol to stand alongside our name to serve as an immediate visual cue that FiscalNote delivers fast, actionable, AI-powered intelligence across our suite of products, including PolicyNote, VoterVoice, and more. It’s a simple mark with a clear message: we’re here to guide you every step of the way. 

A Sharper, More Focused Look

We’re also evolving our color palette to a more sophisticated collection of dark blue, white and highlighter yellow. It’s simple, modern, and grounded in what we do every day—highlight the policies that matter to you. The “midnight” blue nods to the late nights our customers spend drafting rewrites, and the white speaks to the clarity we aim to provide. 

We serve policy, regulatory, and advocacy professionals, with best-in-class technology and purpose-built AI, and we want our visual identity to reflect that focus.

What Isn’t Changing

Our original purple palette symbolized our commitment to being nonpartisan. That commitment remains firm. While our colors are evolving, our values are not. You can count on FiscalNote to deliver trustworthy insights and tools that support your priorities, regardless of ideology.

Accuracy and integrity remain pillars of our work.
